About me

My name is Salvatore, I’m from Sicily though I was actually born in Bergamo, near Milan, and I now live in Livorno, Tuscany. So, yes, a bit of a geographical mix!

I also lived in Pisa and Rome during my student years, and I hold a degree in Polish language and literature. That’s why I speak Polish quite well – or at least, I like to think so!

As a longtime language student myself, I know that speaking a language and teaching it are two different skills. Being a native Italian helps, but it’s just the start. That’s why I’ve studied – and keep studying – to give my students the best experience.

I taugh in Warsaw for seven years before moving back to Italy, and I’ve been teaching online ever since. I sometimes miss the in-person connection, but now I have students from all over the world – Canada, the USA, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Sweden, Germany, France, the UK, Brazil… and of course, Poland!

I love books, sports (mainly calcio and athletics), dogs (expecially the big ones), history and podcasts.

Salvatore racconta – An Italian podcast for learners!

Oh, well, to be sincere I do my own podcast too. It’s an Italian language podcast taylored for intermediate-advanced students looking for interesting and not touristic content about Italy. It’s called Salvatore racconta and you can find it on almost each podcast platform available.
